Finally - a digital frame that works?
Last December, I bought my wife and my son a digital frame for Christmas. I love the concept: give someone a code and they can send pictures to your frame from anywhere in the world. I eagerly loaded about 200 favourite family photos onto the frameo I purchased, over several days. and gave it to my wife, Joan for Christmas.
But, a few days after she received it, it started stopping. Then it stopped starting. So I went back to the shop and exchanged it. Meanwhile, my son David’s one was working perfectly.
The second one soon started stopping and later stopped starting. Permanently. David’s one was still going wonderfully. So, back I went to the shop, for a third one. This was the worst of all. It was playing up badly, started stopping from the very first day and stopped starting a day or two after purchasing it.
I thought that the best course of action was to ask for a refund. I cheekily asked the shop assistant if they had any in the place that actually worked! (But several FaceBook friends had frameos that worked like steam.) The lady told me that they sold another digital frame that was called SoHo. She said it was similar to the frameo.
Meanwhile, the one I gave my son just kept on keeping on.
This new one is extremely similar to the frameo, has the same interface and uses the same app to load the photos. But … it works! We’ve only had it two days, and so far, it has only once started stopping and has not yet stopped starting. I’m crossing my fingers, crossing my toes, and as my old mate Keith would say, crossing my legs.
It cost me $50 more and has 32 gigs of onboard memory instead of 8.
They are quite wonderful when they work!
