Hello! I enjoy trivia and puzzles. I watch Mastermind on SBS TV every night I can, and when the latest series concludes, I watch the old ones again. I participated myself in 2022, and managed to win one episode, but come second on the weekly final.
The following year, my son, Dave also had a crack.
Back in about 2007, I also tried my luck on ABC-TV’s The Einstein Factor. I had similar results, then too. I won my heat, but missed out on the second attempt.
On the ABC program, my subject was J S Bach (the greatest composer, in my opinion). When I was on Mastermind I tackled The Apostle Paul (surely Jesus’ most influential disciple).
Each day I enjoy doing Versle puzzles. (You can find the app here .) In the days leading up to Easter they have a puzzle called Holy Week. There are eight scenes from Jesus entering Jerusalem to the resurrection.
But, I can’t get the order correct (according to the puzzle.)
I think the pictures in the puzzle represent:
a. Jesus riding into Jerusalem on a donkey
b. Jesus carrying his cross
c. Jesus washing the disciples’ feet
d. Jesus throwing the moneychangers out of God’s temple
e. the resurrected Jesus waving
f. Jesus instituting the Eucharist at the Last Supper
g. the empty tomb
h. Judas, with a moneybag in his hand, talking with chief priests
Some of these are clear, but maybe I’m misinterpreting a few. I am guessing this picture depicts Judas betraying Jesus and taking the money, from the chief priests - not bringing it back to them later. What do you think?
After trying the puzzle a few times, I ended up consulting my Synopsis Quattuor Evangeliorum and also looked up the chapters 21 to 28 of Matthew and chapters 13-21 of John. I don’t think that the order that has the puzzle creator’s blessing is the same as in the Bible or the Synopsis!
What order would you put these events in?
